GROUNDWATER IN THE BEIHANCONG RIVER VALLEY OF SUIFENHE CITY, HEILONGJIANG PROVINCE: Water Quality Protection and Advice on Exploitation and Utilization

Abstract:To grasp the groundwater quality of Beihancong River Valley in Suifenhe City and provide reasonable development advice to the local government, the fuzzy comprehensive assessment and hierarchical ladder methods are used to evaluate the groundwater quality and pollution situation respectively. The in-situ test techniques such as geophysical and pumping tests are also applied to demonstrate the regional groundwater abundance on the basis of geological and hydrogeological investigation and water sampling. The result shows that the quality of fissure confined water is generally at Grade I to III, in non-pollution level, which means suitable for drinking. Since the water inflow in the Mesozoic structural fracture zone can reach over 350m3·d-1, it is suggested that the local government should focus on geophysical water exploration around the fracture zone, and carry out the groundwater resource zoning protection planning.
