THE SIHESHUN PYRITE DEPOSIT IN LIAONING PROVINCE: Geology, genesis and prospecting indictors

Abstract:Based on the analysis of the geological background, distribution of orebodies, characteristics of ore and altered minerals, it is concluded that the Siheshun pyrite deposit belongs to meso-hydrothermal filling and metasomatic type. The main ore-controlling and ore-forming structures are the east-west-trending faults, which are also the direction for regional prospecting. The altered mineral assemblage of silicification, sericitization and chloritization is the major indictor for oresearching. With geophysical and geochemical anomalous features, the exploring direction is point out to achieve the prospecting breakthrough in the deep and peripheral areas.
