Abstract：MapGIS is a kind of GIS software commonly used in geologic research and exploration in China. The spatial data, which are the fundamental information of geosciences, have been widely applied in all walks of life. The redevelopment of MapGIS based on ComGIS becomes more and more important. Applying the component technique of MapGIS, this paper realizes the overview function by EditView with Visual BASIC tool.
