Abstract:Some problems remain in the application of electromagnetic methods (TEM and VLF methods) in mineral exploration, involving the sensitivity of equipment, interpretation of geologic structure, improvement of efficiency and emission power. The authors consider the galvanomagnetic effect in practice is interfered by noise. The data of galvanomagnetic effect in practice are much different from that in theory, resulting in the mixture of anomalies and noises. The key to solve this problem is upon the improvement of equipment. The application of electromagnetic method in the research of shallow structure should be launched. The electromagnetic method is not universal, but useful. It should be paid more attention in the mineral exploration.
