Abstract Zhushen and Maya ginsengs grow in the monzogranite and granodiorite areas in Kuandian County, Liaoning Province. The eco-geological background and eco-geochemical features of the ginseng-soil-rock ecosystem are studied. The similarities and differences of major elements, trace elements and rare earth elements between varieties of ginsengs in the same or different areas are compared. The biological absorption coefficients are counted and analyzed. An ecogeochemical partial migration chain model of ginseng is then put forward.
