Abstract Based on the study of gold ore characteristics and gold occurrence in Jijiawa gold deposit, Henan Provinee, it is concluded that the deposit is dominated by oxidized ore, with increasing primary ores in the deep. The minerals are diverse in the ore. The major metallic mineral is pyrite, with gangue minerals mainly quartz, plagioclase and sericite. The auriferous mineral, dominantly native gold, is unevenly distributed in the ore, occurring as intergranular gold and fracture gold. The size of the gold particles is about 0.005-0.1 mm. The fineness of gold, characterized by multistage and vertical zoning, is obviously controlled by temperature.
