Abstract The research team from Shenyang Center of China Geological Survey, Ministry of Natural Resources, initially identified an arc-continent collision during the geological survey in Faku area of northern Liaoning Province. According to geochronology study, it is considered the collision occurred mainly in the Early Paleozoic. The discovery provides a significant basis for the study of Early Paleozoic tectonic evolutionary history of Songliao Basin coverage area in the northern margin of North China Plate.
