Abstract The Yuzhou bauxite deposit is located in the Songji bauxite mineralization belt on the south margin of Songji uplift in the southwestern North China Platform. The area presents typical dual structure of platform basement and cap rock, of which the basement is formed by the Paleoproterozoic Songshan rock group, and the cap rock, a standard platform-type deposition, is composed of a set of Paleozoic marine clastic rock-carbonate rock formation, marine-continental aluminiferous coal formation and continental clastic rock formation. Through analysis on the ore-controlling factors and prospecting indicators of bauxite in the study area, the prospecting model is established and the resources potential is evaluated as well.
