Abstract By analyzing the crustal structure characteristics of Luxi Uplift and Jiyang Depression, combined with the spatial distribution, temporal evolution and tectonic correlation, it is found that there are obvious differences between the two neighbors in terms of crustal structure characteristics though both are in extensional tectonic environment. The Jiyang Depression is characterized by mirror structure of isostasy, while the crust of Luxi Uplift is upheaved, indicating their distinct differences in genesis. The extension of Jiyang Depression is not caused by active upwelling of mantle materials, but should be dragged by Luxi Uplift during the uplifting process, which reflects the significant coupling in genesis as well.
