Abstract Jianchang County of Liaoning Province, an important geological relic concentration of Mesozoic fossil in China, is rich in fossils of Yanliao Biota, Jehol Biota and Fuxin Biota. The qualitative evaluation on the typicality, primitiveness and scarcity determine their value in scientific research, popular science, social and economic aspects. Then the quantitative evaluation further divides the relic sites into Level I, II and III. Finally, the comprehensive evaluation classify the fossil concentrations as National and Local Level, which provides scientific basis for protection planning, reserve division and development and utilization of fossils in Jianchang.
