Abstract Study on the characteristics of Louli gold deposit indicates that the Au element, mainly occurring as fine-grained natural gold, is dispersively disseminated in the fissures of strongly altered tuff and trachyte. The proportion of gold in quartz vein and limonite is 12.5%, much less than that in the altered tuff with developed schistosity, showing the particularity of prospecting indicators of the deposit. Considering the lithological distribution characteristics around the known gold orebodies in the field, it is believed that the developed zones of schistosity and interlayer fissures together with the aegirine-augite-bearing fine-grained orthophyre should be the focus of further exploration.
