Abstract The Shanmen silver deposit, located in the south part of Daheishan faulted uplift, is of epithermal type. Based on the study on geology, geophysics, types of ores, stages of mineralization, fluid inclusions and stable isotope of the deposit, the significant prospecting indicators for the deposit are determined, i.e. NNE-trending tensional faults, silicification, low resistivity electric field, soil chemical anomalies of Ag, Au, Pb and Zn. The metallogenesis is in low temperature, with low salinity. Meteoric water dominates the ore-forming fluid.
