Abstract Electromagnetic vertical profiling (EH4) and surface high-precision magnetic measurement (G859) are used in the survey of deep faults for their forms, scales and occurrences. The application has gained a good result, showing the correctness of the choice for the methods and the necessity to confirm each other. The planning for the environmental geophysical survey should follow the principle of affecting to environment, principle of effectiveness, principle of contract, principle of analogy, principle of economy and principle of equipment.
