Abstract Based on the characteristics of geology,hydrogeology and geomorphology of Liaoning, the distribution of moni toring network for geologic environment in the province is mainly for the environment of groundwater.With the development of national economy and technology,the monitored objects are expanding from simply groundwater to geologic hazards.To meet the demands of sustainable development,the network should be adjusted and perfected on the basis of the techniques of GIS,RS and GPS,with the information source from the monitored data,to realize automatically real time environmental monitoring and analyzing.
