Abstract Using ETM space image data as the information source,some information is extracted on the remote sensing mineralizing abnormal in Taxkorgan area of West Kunlun mountain.Against different mineralizing alteration types in the studied area,some methods,such as band ratio,principal component analysis,Munsell color transformation etc.,are applied to enhance the alteration in formation on the image.Then the threshold segmentation method is used to get the mineralizing alteration abnormal.After that,the images of different alteration types are treated by Median convolution,given different color,and superimp osed together.And a synthesis remote sensing mineralizing alteration abnormal is got.Finally,the delineated abnorm al effect is appraised and analysed.
