Abstract Since 2000, with increased requirements for regional gravity survey technique and renewed regional geochemical exploration methods and technology, the level of basic geological work in Northeast China has greatly improved and many gravity anomalies have been found. Concealed rocks, basins and faults have been delineated and inferred. Especially through the regional geochemical exploration, abundant geochemical anomalies have been recognized, which reflect the true geological rules, provide more metallogenic prospective areas and target areas and find many mineral deposits. With the first round of multi-purpose regional geochemical survey, the regional geochemical distributions of soil elements are ascertained. The soil environment in Songliao Plain is confirmed as good quality. These results provide abundant geophysical and geochemical information for the geological work in Northeast China.
