Abstract The Late Paleozoic Xiaerpu granite is the most important intrusive body in the post-collision granite belt developed along the Darbute fault in West Junggar, Xinjiang Region. Based on the study of geochemistry and petrochemistry, combined with tectonic setting, magmatic rocks and other metallogenic factors, the relationship between the characteristics of the Xiaerpu granite and mineralization is recognized. It is revealed that the ore-host rock is rich in aluminum, calcium and magnesium. The rock body belongs to calc-alkali quasi-aluminous or peraluminous I-type granite.
