Abstract The orebodies in the Jinniuchang Pb-Zn deposit occur in the NWW-trending plumose fractures. Study shows that the Pingqing anticline, which is the results of regional NW-SE structural stress, serves as the main ore-controlling structure. The NE-trending Guancangqing reverse fault is the passage-way for ore fluid. The secondary NWW-trending tenso-shearing fault is the main host structure. The orebodies are obviously controlled by structures in the orefield, therefore the deep and surrounding areas are prospective for ore-searching.
