Abstract The boron deposits in eastern Liaoning Province occur in the Paleoproterozoic magnesian volcanic-sedimentary strata. The rocks have undergone regional metamorphism and migmatization. The REE characteristics of ores are controlled by the boron-bearing rocks and migmatization, indicating that the ore-forming fluids formed in the regional metamorphism and migmatization play an important role in the formation of the borate deposits. The formation of the borate deposits in Eastern Liaoning is the result that the boron-bearing fiuids replace the magnesian rocks.
