Abstract:Form bottom to top, the Shahezi Formation in the Southern Songliao Basin can be divided into two sporopollen assemblages, i.e. the Classopollis-Piceites-Osmundacidites assemblage and the Granulatisporites-Lophotriletes-Cicatricosisporites assemblage. The former is distributed in the first member of the Shahezi Formation; while the latter, in the second member. Study on the sporopollen assemblages demonstrates that the first member of Shahezi Formation geochronologically belongs to the Valanginian Age of Early Cretaceous Epoch; while the second member, Hauterivian Age.
