Abstract:Based on analysis of the geological and geochemical characteristics of Fuxingcun gold deposit in Tonghua, Jilin Province, it is found that the Dalizi formation and Zhenzhumen formation of Proterozoic Laoling group are important source layers for gold and the main host rocks as well. The NNE-and NW-trending fault zones are major ore-controlling structure, with silicification, pyritization and arsenopyritization along the fractures as significant prospecting indicators for gold deposit. There are also oxidation belts of late stages in the fault zones. The active areas of Yanshanian granite, especially where with diorite dykes and orebodies, are gold rich ore (mineralization) bodies. The analysis on genetic mechanism shows that the Fuxingcun gold deposit is a polygenetic epi-mesothermal deposit related with Yanshanian tectonomagmatic activities.
