Abstract:The Shanmen silver deposit is located in the southern part of Shanmen Ag-Au-Ni prospecting area. With the ETM data, ALOS image processing and remote sensing interpretation of geological features of typical deposits and the prospecting area as well, it is concluded that the formation of the Shanmen silver deposit is closely associated with the second-order faults near the Yilan-Yitong fault zone, and controlled by the NE-trending regional brittle-ductile deformation and circular structures. Based on this result, seven minimum prediction areas are delineated. The remote sensing basis for the prediction is also summarized, which would hopefully provide a guide to the mineral prospecting by remote sensing in the area.
