1 GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE GOLDCOPPER DEPOSITS IN WESTERN TIANSHAN

Western Tianshan,standing for the north branch of the western section of Tianshan Mountains in China,belongs to Tarim plate,induding Sailim massif,Boluokenu Early Paleozoic island arc belt and Yili Late Paleozoic rift.The area is one of the most significant Au-Cu mineralization unit within Paleozoic orogenic belt in China.The geochemical and geoph ysical fields indicate a well Au-Cu mineralizing background.The Au-Cu deposits were formed mainly in Hercynian,tectonic-magmatic geothermal events,as epithermal type and ductile shear zone type of gold deposits,and submarine volcanic exhalation-hydrothermal sedimentary type,skarn type,porphyry type and continental volcanic hydrothermal filling type of copper deposits.Five mineralizing belts are delineated,which are Sailim Cu-Au mineralizing belt,Tulasu-Yelimodun Au mineralizing belt,Chabuchar Cu-Au mineralizing belt,Awulale Cu mineralizing belt and Shenglidaban Au mineralizing belt.Main deposits are Axi gold deposit,Wangfeng gold deposit,Lamasu copper deposit and Yuxukaiputai copper deposit.

20 CHARACTERISTICS OF TWO KINDS OF VHMS SILVER DEPOSITS IN CHINA

There are two kinds of VHMS silver deposits in China.The first is the rift VHMS silver deposit,which is tectonically located in continental rifts.This kind of silver mineralization is in control of volcanic activities of alkali dorgalite series.Ag and Cu are main mineralizing elements.The second is the island arc VHMS silver deposit located in island arcs.This kind of silver mineralization is closely related to volcanic activities of calc-alkaline series.Ag,Pb and Zn are main mineralizing elements.The most important mineralization of the two kinds of silver deposits,which are hosted in trachyandesite and rhyolite,occured in the late stage of the whole volcanic activities.

32 GEOLOGICAL FEATURES AND GOLD MINERALIZATION OF INTRACONTINENTAL SUBDUCTION OROGENIC RELT IN SOUTHWESTERN SICHUAN

As a way of plate tectonic orogeny,intracontinental subduction orogeny can be classified into 2 types:inherited type and induced type.A more than 800 km long Yanshanian-Himalayan intracontinental orogeny belt is determinated in southwestern Sichuan Provice.Its middle part is a megadeep nappe structure,which consists of some inherited steeply-dipping deep-fracture zones and super-crust gently-dipping fault and/or local melten mass,with a series of shallow inhented nappe structures occured between deep structures.Rocks in this structure belt(generally mylonite)offen suffered greenschist-amphibolite face metamophism controlled by structural movement.In obduotion plate,pre-subduction epoch sedimentary rocks in marginal sea basin were folded,and formed mountain chain.Syntecyonic and post tectonic magmatites show obvoious zonation.Accompaning the strong tectogenesis and magmatic activity,some small and isolated intramontane basins were distributed in the obduction plate,with red bed sediments of intramontane molasse formation.In the leading edge of subduction slab are foreland basin.The basin sediment are typical red molasse formation,without magmatic activity.

43 THE CHARACTERISTICS OF COMPOSITION AND THERMOLUMINESCENCE OF QUARTZ IN SHAOGUOYINGZI GOLD DEPOSIT

Shaoguoyingzi gold deposit belongs to magmatic hydrothermal type.Gold mineralization is closely associated with silicification.Quartz is the main vein mineral.The characteristics of composition of quartz show that gold mineralization is genetically related to magmatic hydrothermalism.The characteristics of thermoluminescence of quartz may be used to distinguish mineralization types.The type of curves is gentle monopeak.From shallow to deep,the thermoluminescence intensity becomes weaker,which may be served as auxiliary information for prospecting and prediction.

Based on the multivariate correlation statistical analysis of main common element data,this paper discusses the evolution law of geochemistry for the gold deposits in the studied area,proves that ore materials may be directly derived from upper mantle differentiation mainly,and satisfactorily explains the typical geology-geochemistry nature that the ore materials are from upper mantle but in association with crust (strata) matter.

58 GEOLOGICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND GENESIS OF HONGHUAGOU GOLD DEPOSIT,CHIFENG

Honghuagou gold deposit is of auriferous sulfide-quartz type,whose host structure are the fractures striking NNW to S-N and NNE to NE.The wall rock includes amphibolite and diorite porphyrite.The deposit is spacially related to K-feldspaothized metasomatic-remelting granite.Study on lithogeochemistry,microelement,REE and Pb,Sr,S,C,O and H isotopic geochemistry suggests that the ore-forming matter is derived from basemental Archean greenstone formation,mainly diopside-bearing amphibolite and its remelting products,but not genetically related to Mesozoic granite or volcanic rocks.The deposit is Archean greestone-related metasomatic-remelting magma hydrothermal origin.The mineralization is characterized by affinity,inheriting and multistage superimposition.
