65 PETROLOGY AND GEOCHRONOLOGY OF THE PALEO-JILIN-HEILONGJIANG OROGENIC BELT IN THE ADJECENT AREAS OF CHINA,RUSSIA AND KOREA

According to the recent petrologic and geochronologic records,the basement of the paleo-Jilin-Heilongjiang orogenic belt in the adjecent areas of China,Russia and Korea is composed of the Rodinia supercontinent that was formed by the joint pcocesses of tectonics,magmatism,metamorphism and mineralization at ca.1000 Ma.The Assyntian-Xingkai orogeny,as an important developing period of the paleo-Asian Ocean,represents the active response of the region to the splitting of Rodinia supercontinent (from ca.900 Ma)until the matching of Gondwana-Laurentia supercontinent (during 545to 525 Ma).The tectonic cycles of Caledonia(440-445 Ma),Late Varascan(ca.350 Ma)and Early Indosinia(250-230 Ma)completed the transformation from paleo-Asian Ocean to paleo-Tethys,and formed the paleo-Eurasian continent,which responded to the convergence of the Pangea.Especially in Early Indosinia cycle,a completive petrologic and chronolo gicrecord on the continuous process of "continent-continent convergence-intracontinental underthrust-orogenic belt collapse" was formed.

76 THE MESOPROTEROZOIC KOMATIITES AND THEIR GENETIC TYPE IN THE JIFENG AREA OF DAXINGANLING

The peridotitic komatiites in Jifeng area of Daxinganling are with fine microspinifex texture.The matrix materials existing between olivine and augite crystals indicate a volcanic origin.Systematic research has initialy iden-tified a chill zone and a spinifex zone,which constitute an incomplete condensate unit.The petrochemical characteristics of the Jifeng komatiites are in accordance with the peridotitic komatiites in South Africa and Western Australia.The geochemistry study shows a close genetic relationship between the komatiites and the associated basalts,with a positive correlation,conforming to the evolutionary trend of komatiite-tholeiite.The cardinal elements,trace elements and REE of the komatiites in the area present a perfect attribute of type Ⅱ komatiite,which is compatible with the type Ⅱ komatiite in South Africa,India,and West Greenland.The Jifeng komatiites are characterized by low LREE affluence,withεNd (T)=+7.51,showing that the komatiites are derived from partially melted depleted mantle.The komatiites were formed in Mesoproterozoic,in atectonic environment of tensile crust,while the rising komatiite magma was quenched and rapidly cooled.The Jifeng komatiites provide a new key for research of Mesoprote rozoic tectonics in Daxinganling area.

83 MINERALIZATION FEATURES AND PROSPECTING GUIDE OF GOLD DEPOSITS IN GUOLUOLONGWA DISTRICT,QINGHAI PROVINCE

Luoguolongwa Au anomaly is occurred in Dulan County,Qinghai Province,Northwest China.The anomaly is controlled strictly in Lower Carboniferous strata.The assemblage of an omalous elements is mainly Au,associated with Ag,Pb,Cu and Co.The anomaly is high in strength and large in scale,with three obvious zones and two concentrated centers.Quartz vein type of gold mineralization is dominant in the anomalous district.The lodes are composed of almost-pure puartz,with the highest gold grade up to 35.3×10-6 and a reconnaissance resources over 5 t.The area is potential for medium sized gold deposit.The mineralization should be a new type in the area.It is an important guide for the gold prospecting there.

88 MINEROGENETIC CONDITIONS AND PROSPECT OF GUANGNING-LUODING GOLD-ORE BELT IN GUANGDONG PROVINCE

Guangning-Luoding fault belt in Yunkai uplift,Yunkai folding belt of Ca ledonian is a gold deposit-controlling fault belt,where more than 120 gold deposits have been found.The basic geology and minerogenetic conditions of gold deposits have been paid attention since 1983 when a series of large gold deposits,such as Hetai gold depositetc.were discovered.The gold deposits are all located in Guangning-Luoding ductile shear zone and distributed strictly in its mylonite-ultramylonite zones.Hetai and Tagang gold deposits are both the Hetai-type,of which the gold deposits formed in the dilatancy period of the ductile shear zone,genetically related to Wucun ultra-unit granitic intrusive rocks.With studying on the minerogenetic conditions and model deposit,some favorable areas are delineated.One of them is Tagang target,from which an F-degree reserves of 8234 kg gold is gained.

96 EPITHERMAL DEPOSITS IN MANZHOULI AREA,INNER MONGOLIA

A series of epithermal deposits and mineralized occurrences including gold,silver,copper,lead,and zinc resources were discovered in the Mesozoic volcanic-subvolcanic rocks in Manzhouli area.They can be divided into low sulphidation and high sulphidation types,with typical wall rock altera tion and alteration zonation of epithermal deposit.The deposits are closely related to late Yanshanian shallow to super-shallow intrusives both temporally and spatially.Linear fractures and volcanic structures control the distribut ion and extension of the deposits and ore occurrences.The NE-oriented Ergun-Hulun deep-seated fracture zone is the primary controlling structure of ore and magmatic activities.Based on the analysis of ore-forming environments and characteristics of two typical epithermal deposits,Erentaolegai and Daba,the metallogenic regularity and mineralization model of the epithermal deposits in Manzhouli area are summarized.

104 METALLOGENIC SERIES AND PROSPECTING DIRECTIONS OF ENDOGENIC METALLIC DEPOSITS IN THE WEST PART OF SOUTHERN HUNAN PROVINCE

The west part of Southern Hunan Province is situated in the middle of Nanling polymetal metallogenic zone,where mineral resources are rich.The regularly distributed endogenic metallic deposits are controlled by certain sedimentary formation,geological structure and magmatite.Based on the background of metallogenic geology and deposit assemblage,three metallogenic series are divided in the studied area,namely,Cu-Pb-Zn-Ag metallogenic series related to I-type granitoid,W-Sn-Pb-Zn-Au-Ag metallogenic series related to S-type granitoid,and Fe-Mn-Pb-Zn metallogenic series related to sedimentary reformation.Six prospecting criteria are set up on the basis of the regional metallogenic regularity,geophysics,geochemistry and the distribution of minerals.

109 GEOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF ORE-FORMING ELEMENTS OF THE QINGCHENGZI ORE FIELD

The Qingchengzi ore field,located in the East Liaoning rift,is known as a concentrating area for nonferrous and precious metallic mineralization.Tectonically,the deposits occur in the metamorphic rocks of Peleoproterozoic Liaohe group,on the south limb of the Caohekou synclinorium,on Yingkou peleo-uplift,in the east section of the north margin of North China platform.Based on the studies on the geochemical characteristics and geochemical anomalies of elements in the Qingchengzi ore field,the origin of the ore deposits belongs to the type of metagenetic magmatic hydrothermal reformatiom.The contents of the ore-forming elements of Pb,Mo,As and Cd are high in the ore field,while Cu,Hg,V,Ti and Mn are lower.The magmatic rock bodies in the ore field are rich in Pb,Zn,Ag,Sb,B and Cd,but poor in Cu,V,Ti and Mn.The distribution of the elements is characterized by horizontal and vertical zonations.

119 INFORMATION EXTRACTION OF MINERALIZING ALTERATION FROM ETM SPACE IMAGE: Taking Taxkorgan Area of West Kunlun Mountain as an Example

Using ETM space image data as the information source,some information is extracted on the remote sensing mineralizing abnormal in Taxkorgan area of West Kunlun mountain.Against different mineralizing alteration types in the studied area,some methods,such as band ratio,principal component analysis,Munsell color transformation etc.,are applied to enhance the alteration in formation on the image.Then the threshold segmentation method is used to get the mineralizing alteration abnormal.After that,the images of different alteration types are treated by Median convolution,given different color,and superimp osed together.And a synthesis remote sensing mineralizing alteration abnormal is got.Finally,the delineated abnorm al effect is appraised and analysed.

123 APPLICATION OF MERCURY SURVEY METHOD IN GEOCHEMISTRY EXPLORATION

The RG-1model of mercury analyzer is superior in easy operation,disturbance-resistance,low detection limit and high precision.With an application example of the mercury survey method in the water transmission project in Dahuofang,Liaoning Province,some questions are discussed on the sampling position,level,granularity and the testing condition.The testing condition are various for each particular instrument.The actual temperature of specimen decides the release in mercury-release analysis,while the preheated time decides the actual temperature of specimen.Only in the certain experimental conditions,can the testing result reach the demanded standard.The method proves effective in structural reconnaissance.
